About me

I am a scientist and engineer in Southern California. I study microscale in situ sensors, which means I try to build very small tools that can warn us about problems in our bodies or in the environment. I have been working in research labs and nanofabrication cleanrooms for 20 years, and during that time I have worked on everything from nanoparticle-coated optical ring resonators to flexible, plastic, brain probes.

I currently manage the Polymer Implantable Electrode Foundry at the University of Southern California.
